Walter J. Paquette
Walter Joseph Paquette was born in Anderdon, Canure River, Essex County, Ontario, Canada on November 7, 1879, the son (eldest of nine children) of Elmere Beaudoin and Jules Julian Paquette, a nurseryman. Walter emigrated to the United States with his family in 1886, where he settled in Toledo, Ohio and married a woman named Oma Lawther in Michigan in 1903. Their daughter Roberta was born in 1914, and their daughter Helen M. (married Daniel Keller) was born in 1915.
Walter worked variously as an usher in a theater in 1900, a shipping clerk in 1903, as a salesman for the Bissell Company in 1918, a manager of a produce company in 1920, and a salesman for the State Auto Insurance Company in 1940.
Walter was a mineral collector, and member of the Mineralogical Society of America at least as early as 1922 (though not a charter member), and a stamp collector (member of the Society of Philatelic Americans, 1918). He died August 19, 1944, in Toledo.
